The Tangier American Legation Institute for Moroccan Studies (TALIM), the AIMS center in Morocco, is a thriving cultural center, museum, conference center and library in the heart of the old medina in Tangier located in the only U.S. national historic landmark located outside of the United States and its territories.

The Tangier American Legation Institute for Moroccan Studies (TALIM) stewards the Tangier American Legation in Morocco—the only U.S. National Historic Landmark located outside the United States and a powerful symbol of the enduring relationship between the United States and Morocco. Gifted to the United States by the Sultan of Morocco in 1821, the Legation served as a U.S. diplomatic mission for more than 140 years.

Today, the Legation operates as a dynamic museum, research center, and cultural institution, welcoming visitors from around the world while preserving a unique chapter of American history abroad. It is home to the Morocco center of the American Institute for Maghrib Studies (AIMS), supporting scholarship and strengthening connections between the United States and North Africa.
