The Centre d’Etudes Maghrébines en Algérie (CEMA), located in Oran Algeria, is a private, non-profit center that officially opened May, 2006.

CEMA is the AIMS overseas research center in Algeria, and its mission is to facilitate scholarly research on Algeria in all disciplines and to encourage the exchange of US and North African scholars and scholarly information. CEMA was created in 2004 by an agreement signed by AIMS and the Algeria Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. CEMA’s premises are provided by the Algerian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
